Just got back from Whistler

I was walking around the DAy Lot in Whistler. 80% of the cars Don't even have Snow/winter tire on. Isn't there a sign saying " Winter tire is mandatory beyond this point from oct30 to april 1"??

So, come on... Please dont make me stuck at sea to sky because u people, with all season ( hard as brick at low temp ), ran over a sheet of black ice, spinned a 720, rolled over 3 times, 90 degree fishtail, mary-go-round and caused a multiple crash.

* Also , if they do set up a road block, u get ticket for not having winter tire or chain + u need to pay to get ur car tow up the hill.

its vancouver, until they make it mandatory like the east. no one will obey it

threezero 11-22-2009 03:02 PM

i don't think he thought that far ahead yet! haha.

all season tires are OK but a lot of people just don't know how to drive. I do run studded winter tires though and they are awesome. I like passing 4wd suvs in my fwd honda.

EmOne 11-22-2009 05:19 PM

winter tires are for pussies, I drive with slicks in the snow

Volvo-brickster 11-22-2009 05:49 PM

Pffff...

Unless the RCMP enforce it they might as well toss the sign

i was up there today too...a greyhound must have been trying to keep a schedule becuase he blasted past me uphill going 120+ km/h

When you see a greyhound blasting at 120+ km/h, you should follow its speed. Those buses have radar detectors.

my car is incapable of over 90 uphill :haha:

There was a dodge dually 3500 ram with a ginormous trailer behind it that passed me going up hill as well :p

maxx 11-22-2009 07:17 PM

sometimes, there are roadblocks at Cypress which require either
a) snow tires
b) 4x4
c)chains

everyone else goes home

orange7 11-22-2009 07:21 PM

so how was the driving condition?

is all the road work done?

absolution 11-22-2009 07:27 PM

ya , all done, highway is clear until little bit before whistler. it is slushy in whistler village. all car go at like 120km/h

falcon 11-22-2009 08:26 PM

enough talk about tires n sheit... how was the riding? 350cms in 7 days is unreal.

I'm heading up on Blackcomb opening day. It's going to be an epic day of fresh tracks through the glades in 7th heaven.

except you have to go uphill to school in east van...

Mancini 11-23-2009 01:02 PM

Agreed. Snow tires should be mandatory. At least if your driving something like that stretch of road or the Coquihalla. Non-compliance should be ticketed.

q0192837465 11-23-2009 02:00 PM

u should blame tire manufacturers to use the word "all season" cuz it literally means it can be used 365 days a year. Until the government put a ban on tire manufacturers to use the term all-season, I dun think it's fair to make snow tires mandatory cuz we all know the general public is worse than stupid.

GabAlmighty 11-23-2009 07:07 PM

Would you like a tissue?
