Software Help
 
There are way too many junk programs in my PC. I am looking for new and more efficient programs to replace the existing ones. So far I have replaced all the codecs with k-codex mega. What are some recommendations? Tell me what basic software you like and fast.

Here are a list of programs I am using...

well since you ditched that obscene amount of codecs I don't see what you would need to change, I love Winamp as a media player and I run VLC for videos. For the picture viewer maybe try the Picasa one?

i use:

sumatra for pdf's
7-zip for compression (handles everything, open source, fantastic)
cdburnerxp for burning
irfanview for any picture viewing that windows built-in gallery can't do

may wanna check those out

if i had to pick one, it would be sumatra for sure. very small, lightweight, open source. It's great.

Adobe acrobat - foxit reader , very light on resources, tabbed viewing, add-on for firefox available

music player - foobar2000 , very light on resources, highly customizable

yes, I have replaced ACDsee with irfanview....that stupid roadkill icon is annoying, but I have replace it myself =)


Foxit is great too, I am now using it.
