BMW Peake SRS Airbag Tool?

Hi,

Any BMW owners out there own a Peake SRS Airbag tool to diagnose and reset my airbag light?

I drive a '97 BMW 328ic. The light came on just the other day when I gave a ride to a rather large passenger. I have a feeling it's the passenger seat occupancy detector or the seat belt pretensioner/latch.

Any help would be appreciated? Of course, I'd be willing to compensate you for your time in the form of alcohol or cash.

Thanks!

A Peake Research Tool does not cost a million dollars. They're affordable and can be had online at Pelican Parts for a reasonable cost.

resetting SRS light will not work.

check with the people at bimmerforums.org. They might have a better solution for you

The Peake tool displays codes that you can look up in the book to find out what the problem is. The tool itself only costs about $150. So i was hoping some other Bimmer owner ended up buying it to diagnose their own car, and could offer their services for cheaper than the dealer.

I never take my car to the dealer (only CG, Nixon or Euroshop). I've already scheduled an appointment, but i'm just hoping to save some money. If it's a problem with the passenger occupancy sensor, I'd rather buy the override chip that would make both the airbags go off even if there is no passenger than actually replace the sensor.

Try one of the local forums such as VancouverEuros.com. You might have a better chance at finding an owner who can help.
