The 420K LFA is the result of 9 years in F1 and billions of dollars spent on the program.

bimmer91 11-26-2009 11:19 AM

but then.... for 420k theres soooooo many better cars to get

$420K is crazy, but this is a Toyota....supercar performance and reliable!!!!

Sure there will be better performing cars at a lower price, but as a package...it will be hard to beat. They developed this car like a Porsche GT3RS...it is all about feel Vs the fastest lap times (aka GTR)

Everyone knows what a Lambo,Ferrari or Rolls Royce is,even the people that have no clue about cars know what they are,but a person with no car knowledge will just think the LFA is just "another" lexus, regardless of how big the price tag is.

For the price of a new LFA,I would not go near a Lexus showroom,I would be on the hunt for a used Carrera GT or Ferrari F50.

I am sure you will have second thoughts when you replace the clutch on a Carrera GT......$28K probably every 5000kms if you are lucky....hard core porsche guys rather have a GT3 RS

If I can afford a Carrera GT,I would most likely be able to afford to replace the clutch,it's not like the car would be a daily driver and I'm putting 30K a year on it.

The Ferrari guys spend around $28K just on a 6 month service.

Just exactly where did you hear a clutch job for a Carrera GT cost 28K?

F50 for 400K? good luck finding one.

there's only one F50 in Canada, and it's not for sale. dunno if one can import an F50 to here and register it.

And the people buying LFA will say, "I already have Ferrari/Lambo, why not use extra cash to get this for exclusivity."

You can never have too many Ferrari's or Lambo's.

doesn't matter how much money you have....even rich guys don't like to spend stupid money...how do I know...I know someone who had to replace one and hence sold it a few months later for a GT3 RS....

believe it or not, some people don't want flashy cars like Ferraris and Lambos.....and rather have understated vehicles like the Lexus or Aston Martins.....people who drive bright colour lambos or Ferraris are people who are basically saying..."look at me"

heleu 11-27-2009 06:54 AM

Yeah, a Carrera GT or Enzo would be nice, but those are limited edition cars they stopped selling years ago.

Any other lambo/Ferrari is too common and not in the same league. A Pagani Zonda on the other hand...I'd take that.

Like it or not, the cars are going to be sold out. It's too exclusive not to sell out.

Mugen EvOlutioN 11-27-2009 07:48 AM

how is CGT in the same league as LFA

doesnt CGT costs like $600,000?

They are not in the same league.

A Porsche is a Porsche & a Lexus is a Lexus.

I don't care if the LFA is the fastest most advanced street car on the planet,it will always be a Lexus and nothing more.

you are right, a Lexus is a Lexus.....a premium luxury technology eco minded brand that surpassed Mercedes quality in 10yrs...that's it.

A Porsche is not a Porsche anymore, because it is now owned by VW. The primary decision makers at Porsche are now driven by VW execs.

Mugen EvOlutioN 11-27-2009 08:28 AM

i guess Lambo aint a lambo anymore too than? since its owned by AUdi aka VW?

Z3guy 11-27-2009 08:33 AM

you are right as well, Lambos are not Lambo anymore....Lambos in the 90s were unreliable wicked looking cars that broke down way too much...since Audi bought them, they are now reliable supercars. Porsche will benefit even more from VW's technology, however VW will try to leverage the Porsche name even more with less expensive models that share platforms. I think VW will waterdown the brand...remember the 914 or 924? VWs with Porsche badges.

Then Toyota will announce that they are gonna make more

Just like a Bugatti is not a Bugatti cause VW owns that brand or Bentley is just another upscale VW too?

How about Rolls Royce just being another very expensive BMW.

And ferrari being a very expensive Fiat?

I don't doubt people thinking that, but no. Not a kid or a honger.

Regardless, I can't wait to see the thing. 1 of only 10 in Canada is pretty exclusive and will be pretty awesome to see.

I too, am not sure whether the car warrants a $400k price tag but I will reserve judgement until I read more test drives and get to see one in the flesh.

Kev
