Chasing a unicorn?

Am I chasing something I cant obtain?

I want to get my hands on a LHD unmolested/lightly modded MKIV Supra.

Is there really a chance of finding one that isnt going for some stupid amount of money?

I was thinking about importing one from the US but I dont know if it would be cost efficient

thoughts?

Import from the US. Pretty much the only way. I'm doing this next year. And it won't be in awesome shape, expect an engine rebuild/repaint. Which you should be doing anyway, since you'll probably beat the sh*t out of it.

LOLOL...I've been searching for an unmolested 2001 CW ITR for 2 years now..

One day I will find my unicorn.

I've been looking for an unmolested and affordable S30 for 4 months now...

I thought this thread was about UNICORNS. You guys got my hopes up. I was about to express my experience.

Check Supraforums. There have been a few Canadian MKIV TTs in the past year that were unmolested, but demanded a slight premium.
As mentioned, check the USA. There was a 94 red TT that sold earlier this year from the midwest states for $24k USD, IIRC his asking price was 28, but it didn't sell until months later and he dropped his asking price a few times.

it's going to be tough finding a good canadian one, since our numbers are smaller than the US because they had it longer than we did :(

Mr.Jay 11-26-2009 06:42 AM

Yea I keep looking and every single one Ive seen has been going for 35K+

which is a little hard to bare with considering they are 15+ year old cars

I just love this car tho so I guess I'll start saving

hk20000 11-26-2009 09:08 AM

wow 35k you can import a JDM one and a US NA one and hire some guy to dump the TT drivetrain and brakes etc into the NA one for you for less money.

Granted the NA chassis is probably more minty too just like Corolla SR5 chassis are always more straight and less rusty than GTSes

I happen to have that Unicorn, but I do not recommend JDM. Just save up for this beauty, you will be pleased.

I remember a car that kinda looked like urs being sold here but when I did some background check on the car it was a rebuilt and had rolled back its mileage

lucky for you to get a good one tho

Hmmmm maybe I will just get the FT86 when it comes out and find some way to shoehorn the 2jz in the engine bay
