My friend was telling me about this event a few days ago. Apparently he was working today in the electronics section :lol must be a hell of a day for him.

groceries is a broad term. does not always mean just fruits/vegetables which are non taxable.

LOL does anyone even buy stuff from their electronics department? I always feel like i walked through some time portal as you pass those gates XD

skyxx 11-28-2009 11:53 PM

Actually, you'll be surprised as to how many people buy stuff from the electronics department of Superstore. Games are often cheaper at Superstore.

I believe there is no tax on essentials like milk and fruits, but there is GST on non-essentials like cookies and chips.

It's the first place I go to for consumer electronics. Especially when they had the $30 voucher if you spent more than $250.00 deals. You could use the voucher with your purchase - none of this good for next purchase bullshit. I haven't seen the deal in a long time, though. I bought my Wii system for nothing with that deal, plus my PC points.

Gotta love Superstore.

Gotta love Superstore.

got my PS3 from RCSS during a Not tax, $30 gift card when you buy $250, used $60 from gas coupons, and $100 from my PC Points credit card.

Ended up paying $210 i think. man i love superstore! I never hit it right when they are clearing out video games tho -- they dump them for $5-10 when they really want to get rid of them fast.

I've found that THAT coupon has been in my local paper (The Courier) and NOT the nice full colour flyer that they send out. I don't know what local papers you have, but try looking through that.

You should start a Superstore thread. Let us know what's happening. Could discuss Presidents Choice stuff. Some of that shit is better than national brands.

My recent favourite, PC Stem Ginger Marmalade (chunks of real ginger) yum. My all time favourite soft drink. PC Diet Passionfruit. 69¢ per 2 Litre bottle. $1.99 a case of 12 cans. Best taste for less.

Do I sound like a PC Ad? LOL.

johny 11-29-2009 04:01 PM

dam so this was just fri sat? I want I wii. how much are they at superstore?... they are 209 elsewhere.

looks like the all week flyer has a 25$ gift card if you spend $250 though. I wonder if they have any wiis left. still not bad to get the $25 back

sat would have been no tax + $25 off dam..

oldsnail 11-29-2009 04:12 PM

again? i i just bought something from it last week.

Last week, i picked up a PS3 for 299, no tax + a free 2nd dual shock 3 controller (coupon on flyer) and a free case of mandarin oranges (coupon on flyer, when total purchase is over 150)

so i thought that was a pretty good deal.
300 bucks for a ps3, extra dual shock controller and a free case of oranges.

dru 11-29-2009 04:15 PM

^ah lucky, I was too late and they sold out of PS3's! I called North Van, Grandview and Marine... all out :(

Did they advertise the extra controller in the flyer? I just saw it when I was there for the no tax.

MG1 11-29-2009 04:48 PM

Saturday was not tax free day. It was Thursday/Friday only.

Word man. I bought a package of PC Old-Fashioned Jalapeno chips today, and to me they taste exactly like Ms. Vickie's chips, but 1/3 cheaper! Same size too.

skyxx 11-29-2009 11:20 PM

^ and Too salty. I like the Thick cut dipping chip with the resealable top. :)

maxxxboost 11-29-2009 11:56 PM

Actually, Grandview and Rupert has turned out to be a good area for shopping. You have both Superstore and Walmart within a stone's throw, plus you have Marks Work Wearhouse and Cambodian Tire. Oh, and Price Smart, although I never go there for some odd reason.

Should close down that Pet place and open up a Sears and perhaps a London Drugs. Then the world will be A OK. :D

Grandmaster TSE 11-30-2009 11:36 AM

yea, best area for everyday needs, i live pretty close to there, so convenient

Mugen EvOlutioN 11-30-2009 11:44 AM

True, you have to check your prices. Costco is also like that. Price of tires there used to be pretty decent. Now they are more expensive than just about anywhere. Hell, Michelin Latitude X Ice is cheaper at Carter Honda compared to Costco. I was desperate, because Michelin X-Ice are out of stock everywhere. Carter Honda has the right size for my Ridgeline. Costco quoted me a higher price and couldn't even get them in.

skyxx 11-30-2009 01:34 PM

^ You must travel to the city quite frequently.
