Car broken into!!!

I'm asking this on behalf of a friend. Her car got broken into, glass shattered. I know I gotta pay the retarded deductible before insurance kicks in.

But what if stuff inside gets stolen, can I claim that? Her Nintendo DS got stolen, is it possible to claim that back?

Hey can you slip in an iphone 3gs for me? I've been wanting one of those for a while

wtf

You can't claim anything that isn't essentially "bolted" to the vehicle... best of luck with your/your friends situation.

Euro7r 11-28-2009 11:23 PM

Hahahha, personally I wouldn't ask such a question on RS. But my friend's mom thinks she can claim it back, so what the hell, I'd ask on RS anyway.

I'm not paying crap haha. I meant, I know the deductible has to be paid.

Bad wording!

oh you can claim wutever you want in your car,
just prepare for increase hike in home insurance.

Should I bolt down my ipod nano into my car? It's only ever used in it anyways.

nabs 11-29-2009 12:47 AM

you would have to pay a second deductible for personal items. not worth it.

freakshow 11-29-2009 12:57 AM

My car also got broken into tonight.
If you claim personal items that were not bolted down (ie. GPS, DS, etc), it falls under your home insurance, which probably won't be worth it.

Where did your cars get broken into? (Street location?)

BMW135i 11-29-2009 02:18 AM

sucks to hear that. i'd remember my car got broken in. Didn't break the window or damage on the car.He or she stole 0.50 coins and a screw driver......(CD deck still sitting in the passenger seat drawer.

Passenger seat drawer, eh?

illicitstylz 11-30-2009 07:36 AM

lol passenger seat drawer. I'm sure you mean't the glovebox.

That's why I put a cheap mp3 player in my car instead of an ipod in case it does get stolen yeknow.

if there was say $1000 cash inside the car, i guess ICBC wont cover that if your car gets stolen?
