Because before i was using 3m Marine fiberglass restorer and 3M Marine Protective Liquid Wax. ( Hand buffing is pain in the ass) And it worked great for the first few times...... |
Don't bother waxing it and all the hassle, you can basically get it cleared at any local bodyshop just tell the shop to wetsand it with something really fine like 1500 or 2000 really lightly then just spray clear over top. |

Tried waxing and buffing again on sunday, the result was worst than i expected............ |
What has happened is your part's manufacturer cheaped out and used subpar non UV stable resin. Basically nothing can save it short of recoating the whole thing. Cheaper to just junk the part and get a new one. BTW it is illegal under MVA anyways. |
waxing and buffing wont work. The epoxy thats used is softer than clearcoat and not as uv resistant. I've done quite a few cf hood repairs as well as gelcoat repairs. what I recomment is a good wetsand and cutpolish or just clearcoat it with an automotive clear (not duplicolor spray bomb). All of the above services I can provide. |
