Limiting Bandwidth With a Router I have 2 tenants in my house, and I let them use my Interweb. I am using Shaw X-treme ATM. The interweb has been pretty slow lately. I've come to the conclusion that both tenants are downloading torrents 24/7. Is there a router/software that allows a restriction on bandwidth allocation based on authentication (i.e. WPA2 network key), etc?? I.e. I'll give the tenants a PIN that will only allow them access to 35% of the bandwidth? I tried to google for help on this, but was unsuccessful. :( |
There have been a few threads on this lately.. I think you're looking for a router feature called QoS. What router do you have? |
