Dilemma: what would you do?

so if your old work place invites you out for lunch with their new director - do you go?

i left the co. on good terms, and still talk to the bosses. however, it seems that i'm the only one that is invited that is not currently working for the org.

whats the ethical thing to do?

Mugen EvOlutioN 11-30-2009 09:12 AM

i think it would be kinda akward

shenmecar 11-30-2009 09:17 AM

Are they trying to hire you back?

tiger_handheld 11-30-2009 09:23 AM

^ i help them out here and there still. (2-6hrs/ month) but i work for one of their friends now - and they know i'm pretty happy with my current gig.

the place their going for lunch is a few doors down from where i work..

shenmecar 11-30-2009 09:33 AM

Oh, then I think their intentions are just as a friendly invitation. It seems you are very close of them and they probably thought, "Oh, lets invite *tiger_handheld's real name* to the lunch that we're having seeing as he helped us out a lot":)

If thats the case then I wouldn't mind going. Its like a get together.

:lol. I'd go, even if they try to get you back, the choice is up to you in the end so it doesnt hurt to be taken out

i dont' see any problem with the situation at all...??
Unless the company you are working for is in direct and fierce competition with them, it sounds like just normal business socializing
