Probably need a crossover cable and internet sharing on your laptop.

Yep. I use to do that with my PS2 connected to my PC that was connected wirelessly to my router.

You'll need a standard crossover ethernet cable and you'll need to enable Internet Connection Sharing (I don't know what it's called in Windows Vista/7, but that's what it was called in XP.). It was a little confusing to get it working right, so don't be discouraged if you have troubles at first.

You can get it from any computer store. Make sure it's a cross-over cable instead of a straight thru cable.

http://www.ncix.com/search/?categoryid=0&q=crossover

It's only around 3-4 bucks.

I didn't think you really needed x over cables anymore, as I was told in my one computer class even if you use the wrong one (straight vs x over) the computer can internally flip it as needed?

either way, there's a bunch of tut's on this, check xbox-scene.com

you do not need a crossover cable. just plug in a regular ethernet cable from xbox to laptop.
do not turn xbox on yet
go on laptop (depending on what OP system, i use vista)
Click network and sharing center
-right click the wireless connection go to properties
-go under sharing tab
- check the 1st box and it should automatically check the 2nd box
click ok
Some warning might pop up ignore
-turn on xbox
-test connection
-BINGO

a lot of guides online r confusing n shit. this is the easiest way
BTW when your not playing xbox and at a hotspot you have to uncheck the shared tab for the hotspot to work

Are you talking about sending data or being able to access the internet using your notebook? To access internet all you have to do is bridge the wireless card and the ethernet port so that anything that connects to the ethernet port will have access to the internet.. Like your xbox for live. To bridge a connection all you need to do is select(highlight) the wireless and lan connection right click and bridge connection.. Once done connect xbox to notebook and play!

dont bridge the connections.
Just go to properties for the connection (The internet source) and click the shares tab and check the box.
When you bridge to connections it makes things more complicated
Hope this helps
