Redrilling Wheels vs. Wobble/Flex Bolts
 

So I have a set of BBS RS-GT in 18x8 5x114.3, but I didn't get a Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart so they're now not going to fit.

I'd like to keep them for use on the VW GTI, which is 5x112. I've heard that flex bolts work well with that application, but I was wondering if it would be safer/better to redrill them instead because I would like to run them for autocross.

Opinions? Advice?

I'd really like to keep them because of the price that I got them for, and their looks.

Don't redrill, I don't think flex bolt would work well in autocross.

Get a EvoX or sell it.

Just the term flex bolt sound scary. I've been in this industry a long time and never even heard of them.

the best option besides buying a new car or a set of new rims is spending 500 bucks and getting HUB ADAPTERS...they will make your 5x114 turn into any bolt pattern you wish.

hub adapters only works if u have fender room to work with. at about 25mm thick, space is at a premium.

they're not called called flex bolts. they're called pcd bolts that has a floating washer that allows up to 2.5mm of movement and i also don't recommend them but that's just personal opinion. u can check them out under the company name bimecc usa.

flex bolts basically have the head of the bolt on this like offset tapered washer. are they safe? i personally would never use them. But you have to weigh the options. either redrill ur bbs (they are BBS's!) which means redrilling bbs's, any other rim i wouldnt mind but damn, BBS?! or risk using the wobble bolt.

id say try to see if i can do a straight trade with someone that has the bolt pattern u need.
