read of RFD this manual tq wrench is on sale for 8.99 http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows...2B2-in.%2B.jsp thoughts? the price aint reflected on the website yet but i went to CT today i recall seeing the cheap price but didn't get it cause it looks fragile and not pimp enough as the clicking ones lol EDIT: 7.59 also another tq wrench from princess auto http://www.princessauto.com/vmchk/to...-torque-wrench 19.88 |
Yeah, that's what I meant. I was an AST student. I didn't buy any tools first year cause I thought you were allowed to buy tools later on. It's sort of stupid since certain students were unsure if they wanted to actually continue on with the course. |

Any nice cheap kits out there that are Metric only? I thought pretty much every production car on the face of the planet is Metric at this point, except for spark plugs and tire rims. |
FYI: there's a 1/4 pallet left of the husky tools at Richmond Home Depot on Bridgeport. i just phoned and asked right now. i'm going to pick one up now! :D |
That's not a particularly cheap deal. Keep your eye on Canadian Tires and sometimes 210+pieces craftsman will go for like $60-$70 But have fun with the Husky stuff anyway |
regular price $149.99, sale price $59.99. husky is good quality stuff (not the best of course) and it has lifetime warranty. good deal i'd say. if anyone's going to the richmond store, it's located in front of the cashiers (in between 16 and 17). |
They are not gear wrench, just box wrenches. It has an offset. Quote:

I would say it is akin to Mastercraft (vs Mastercraft Maximum).. I think the supplier to Husky had changed over the years. Their stuff used to be made by Stanley (toolboxes and hand tools).. but I noticed now Waterloo is their chest supplier and I think hand tools are outsourced to Taiwan. Still no cordless electrical tools beat Ridgid's warranty. I don't think anyone else give lifetime warranties to any batteries. Quote:

I've more or less made my own kit, but I've collected a lot of random bits over the years as well. Most of mine is a combination of Jet (lifetime warranty, and better then Mastercraft/Craftsman), and Grey. Edit - I only own 2 Crafstman pieces, an old school impact gun (that's actually made in japan!), and a 3/8th torque wrench, which recently fell apart.. |
Husky also have a 27" 10 drawers ball bearing storage unit for 199.. for those who don't yet yet toolboxes and are home mechanic, this is a super deal. Ballbearings is a must if you load up your box with more tools! I think it is a better deal than their tools, since tool set deals are dime of a dozen but storage is not that common. http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/h...-199-a-822737/ I don't think it have "locks" where if you tilt the box, the drawers will stay shut though. http://imgur.com/Qxutm.png |
my dinky ass garage isn't even big enough to store one  |

mastercraft maximum socket wrench set is much better then that. and cheaper when on sale |
Newest purchase... http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....re&dir=catalog kinda hurt the wallet, but it was time. managed to get it for $3500 after tax in like new condition. |
All retail places except for Snap On don't offer in house torque calibration. I got my Proto digital and analog torque wrenches from KMS. They send you to Canada West to get the calibration done. ~40+ each time. Peter @ BFB say he will offer the service soon, which I assume is for Toptul. Cheap torque tools often with bad calibration, you mind as well just over torque it. Why bother measuring if you don't know if the measurement is correct or not?! |

Theres more of a chance for the toolbox to be stolen from the garage than inside the house. |
Where's a good place to get hydraulic floor jack and jack stands. Oem scissor jack isn't cutting it. Posted via RS Mobile |
Crappy tire has an Al on sale: http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows...acksStands.jsp KMS is more expensive, but you can negotiate with them. Also Princess Auto have this package for 144 which I thought is decent: http://www.princessauto.com/shop-gar...age-combo-pack If you are in the states.. you can go to Harbor Freight.. pretty much PrincessAuto/KMS tools at about 30% off. Typically you want to get a 2.5-3ton jack.. budget about 120-160 for the jack and about 50 for a pair of stands. Quote:

Anchor it? or load it up with tools? I don't think many people will haul a huge tools box out of the garage (especially if you keep the door closed and the toolbox is towards the back of it), especially if it is filled with cheap tools. My tool boxes probably weigh nearly the weight of a car. I don't think you can steal it without a life gate on a truck. Quote:

Mastercraft Maximum wratchets are shit. Used them for a while, fucking garbage, bought some snap on, never go back. Also, I would never buy another Maximum torque wrench, bought 3 in a row, every single one didnt fucking work. |
