I try to always deal with sites where users can post comments. The is usually enough to steer you away from spyware. TPB also rates some as "trusted" and members get "VIP" ratings for being good uploaders. CS4 is so common you can easily find a site with user comments.

I don't think he has violated the rules. Anyone providing him with the link he wants will be in violation.
