water leak hey, i have a 5th generation honda prelude. the past few weeks i have noticed water in the back of my trunk. i believe it's coming from both sides of the quarter panels as that's where it's mainly wet and damp. at first, i thought it was the drainholes from the moonroof so i did a reverse air compression flush from the drain tube in the trunk. i did the reverse air flush because i could not access the drain hole from the sunroof. this didn't appear to work. it also seems that the drain tubes are not the problem. the tail light gaskets are not the problem either as i've replaced them about a year ago. has anyone had this experience before? where do you think the water leak is coming from? any assistance would be greatly appreciated. |
find a small friend and throw him/her in the trunk with a flashlight. Start to hose down the car, if there is an obvious leak, you will hear your poor friend screaming. |
lol funny method but i guess it works |
yea the back of my trunk is wet and damp its from teh mositure |
I'm in the middle of fixing this on my Integra, mine got so bad water seeped to the back seats, and all the way to the front carpet. my particle board in the trunk is soggy warped and moldy, I threw that out and cut out a new piece, I figured out it was coming from my antenna cuz I stripped everything out the back, carpet, panels, seats I crawled in and had my friend spray water all over the back of the car and found the source. Fix this asap before it gets really bad, I'm doing a complete interior overhaul, shampoo and everything cuz the whole interior smells like mold I'll post up pics later |
there are also little rubber plugs that plug up holes in the trunk floor. find them and either drill a small hole thru them or remove completely for a few days to drain out. uve already tried going thru the drain hoses so cant think of anything else other than maybe the seals are gone, and leaking water in. |
