Yeah people laugh at 50 cent now and make jokes at all, but I'm using him as an example that people like him in early 2000 were popular with good lyrics. Now we have people like Soldier Fag that rap about shit that has nothing to do with nothing. Like i said songs early 2000 were still good, real lyrics... that's why all the good shit is back in the day and all the songs now are just a fad.

If your going to buy a Tupac album, get “me against the world” first.

Me against the world was released just after he went to prison for rape (or was it just before?). This was before the west coast east coast feud which he helped start by moving to Cali after getting out of prison and claiming it was Big and his crew who shot him.

Regardless, still his best in my mind anyway. An album about self struggles rather than gangster posturing.

Most people forget, Tupac was a roady and a dancer for digital underground before he became a “gangster”. (do the humpty hump.) Everything after he got out of prison was much more mainstream “gangster style”, which isn’t really my thing I guess. There were definitely some good tracks after he joined death row records, just not as many, as his focus seemed to change from making a social statement to trying to prove how “hard” he was.

I’m probably one of the few who actually likes “Are you still down” which seems to have better writing to me than “all eyes on me”, which is more of a clubby “gangster gangster” album. Edit: Are you still down has TERRIBLE production however, and all eyes on me has some of the best production out there.

And in the end, Big was still a better rapper.

If u are going to buy only one album then get the limited experience and buy the 2cd greatest hits. To get the full experience the. U want me against the world, all eyez on me, makaveli, and r u still down. Pacs first two albums had important songs with great content but they weren't great top to bottom like the ones I have mentioned. Everything released after his death with the exception of r u still down is a joke, same old tracks with whack beats, I don't like this new Frankenstein crap, it's for suckers and younger folks who never really knew who Pac was. If u want his older tracks then also get the greatest hits or the soundtrack to the tupac movie.

And for the record souljah boy did not kill hip hop... It was the fans and the record execs... The fans stopped buying music and the records execs chose to only sign and promote highly profitable products. The 90s was a golden period but this past decade has been amazing!!! When else could u witness the full blossom of jayz, common, talib? Wutang is still strong, that Raekwon album is nice, the rocafella dynasty rise and fall, the birth and art of kanye west, the new school (cool kids, wale, Asher, drake, Mickey, whiz, currency, cudi), the cash money young money, the return of qtip, the blossum of outlast, the roots on tv, Clipse selling it for cheap, hi tek making two awesome solos, jdillas legacy, Lupe, nerd and the neptunes, nas is still strong, william is a beat monster, the poppy black eyed peas, timbaland crossover music, Alicia keys, John legend, the huge comebacks of Mariah.... Ryan Leslie the genius, fabolous growing up, the birth of Dj hero and the lines between hip hip and other genres bending, hip hop is everywhere and u say it's dead... WTF are u smoking???
