Computrack gps Tracking

http://www.compustar.com/products/computrack/ Is this type of alarm and gps tracking device sold here in BC, it don't have to be compustar but something that can tell me on my phone or pda if the vehicle has been tampered with or stolen.

The biggest problem about GPS Tracking systems are that most companies with LOW fees or no maintenance fee (no monthly fee's or pay per use) is that most companies have gone out of business or don't last in the business more than a year. That being said, the money you've invested into your product and had it installed, would be worthless. Hardware is usually non interchangable to other providers so your money invested would go down the drain.

But the good thing about Compustar is that they are such a huge company and they are by far less likely to close down their GPS tracking divison, infact they are coming out with a newer system next year that will have an iPhone App and Blackberry App so you can control your vehicles alarm, remote start (if applicable) and gps tracking.

Viper already makes an integrated GPS system but they have no Canadian network (through cellular as well) so it cannot be used in Canada, only in USA at this time.

Hope this helps.

Ooooh BB app nice I'm all over that.

Of course the best choice would be www.neroglobal.com but our fees are higher then most competitors since we market ourselves more towards fleet management including lifetime warranty and on-site service across Canada.

Compustar will be offering a program directed towards Fleet Services.
Unit will plug and play into the Compustar RS 232 port so minimal installation for add on to any Compustar!

As well, it will be on a data network, so no txt msging ur car, it will go through data from ur BB or Iphone.

Supposely they will be making a "blade cartridge" style as well, where can just slide the computrack into the brain of the compustar.

New Compustar is coming out with DUAL blade cartridge input :)

Ok, so there is a few different systems to go with, but I would rather go with Compustar since it's well known.
Now what is a "Blade cartridge" and what more can a Dual blade cartridge do?
Also how much are the subscription fee's with Computrack?

Cartunes.
I have one in my car. It is meant for Fleet management but works great as personal. You can also use your cellphone as the Fob. You have the ability to set Geo Fences, as well as notifications, via text message, of set parameters like your car exceeding 100km an hour for all you parents out there.

Keep in mind this is priced for USA, they will be changing things once the new system is up and for Canada.
