3D gaming, What do I need? im looking to buy a computer for mainly photoshop use and mabey some casual 3d gaming/movies. Would the following specs be enough? Athlon II X2 DUAL CORD 240 2.8G ASUS M4A78 Plus Motherboard 4GB DDR2 800MHz 500GB SATA HDD ATI Radeon HD4670 512M PCI-E 16" ATX Case Internal Cardreader LG 22X DL DVD+/-RW Integrated HD Audio Integrated Lan 2.1 Speakers Logitech Keyboard Logitech Optical Mouse they are asking $499.99 I already purchased the 22" 120 hz monitor that came with the nvidia glasses. thanks. |
To be honest the 3D is pretty wack, I tried it at FS on a rig they were selling as a higher end gaming rig basically gives games made to utilize the 3D a little "depth" that's all and you've gotta keep the glasses tight to your face and stay at a fairly square position or else the effect is lessened Posted via RS Mobile |
yea..I felt the same when I played with the demo. It's cool at first, but I can imagine the novelty wears out quickly. PS: I was under the impression that an ATI graphics card won't work with the Nvidia glasses. (Nvidia graphics card ONLY) |
2nd question: are those specs worth $499.99? |
psst, no one calls it 3d gaming anymore |

You need to stop wasting your time. seriously 3d gaming is a total gimick right now, one of the few game actually designed for 3d is the avatar game which looks meh. |

I've tried a couple games with those 3D glasses, lame as hell. I'll wait for the technology to grow and become more mainstream before diving into that. You need a Nvidia video card to work with those Nvidia glasses. http://www.nvidia.com/object/3D_Vision_Overview.html. Says you need a Geforce 8 or better. |
