I have a new 2010 VW GTI I want to protect using Werkstat's Acrylic products... it's Deep Black Pearl in color. At this rate you're going to tempt me into going to Maple Ridge again just to pick up more products.

Good idea? Any better product suggestions?

Cant go wrong with werkstat acrylic jett!
ken told me 2 coats will give you 6 months or protection.

For the amount of time it takes to apply it, you cant go wrong

Werkstat is the easiest way to go. Just remember, this time of year if you can see your breath, don't try applying anything. You won't be able to get rid of the condensation. Use a heated garage.

I should have phrased my question better, sorry - on the website, it says that the Werkstat kit: "This excellent value for money kit includes everything you need to achieve the Werkstat acrylic finish on your car, and works best on lighter colours and metallic/pearlescent finishes."

Are there better-suited products with the same ease of use I should look for a black-colored car (black pearl)?

Also, what if you don't have a heated garage? :( Guess I better take over my friend's place haha.

1. Most definitely hijack your friends garage. Put a small space heater in there as well so its nice and toasty. Sucks being cold.

2. Even if your car is black pearl, the AJT will look great. Its not as shiny as some sealants. It has almost a carnauba type glow to it. And no, there is nothing easier to use.

is the acrylic kit similar to the klasse twins(a finishing polish and sealant?)


i think i should go pick up some halogen work lights to keep the garage warm and well lit.

The Prime part of the kit is not a finishing polish but a paint cleanser. It'll get rid of any oils etc that are on the paint to help the Acrylic Jett adhere better, as well as provide a base layer of sealant. It may mask light swirls, but its definitely NOT a polish.

Same as Prime Acrylic but with stronger cleaners. Makes it a great product for door jambs and wheels as it cleans well and lays down a base layer of sealant. If you only wanted to have one of the Prime's, this is it.
