Just sell it locally curious tho, how old are u? |
Don't bother with shipping, it's a scam... just sell it local. |
money order. they have to go to the post office, paid cash to the post office for the amount, the canada post will give them the money order to mail to you, recevie the money order, deposit it into your bank, wait until the money order clears, then ship out your phone |

only sell locally. He could always put a claim on paypal saying you didn't ship the phone or something else. |

** CRAIGSLIST ADVISORY --- AVOID SCAMS BY DEALING LOCALLY ** Avoid: wiring money, cross-border deals, work-at-home ** Beware: cashier checks, money orders, escrow, shipping ** More Info: http://www.craigslist.org/about/scams.html This is what CL sticks on top of every email they send you. |
if you think hes scamming you , why dont you scam him..take the money order and send him a bag of rocks. if he complains then send him the real phone |
Guys, this dood's in Ottawa, not Nigeria. I love how anything that's not local MUST be a scam. Have none of you ever bought/sold online before? OP, give him your bank acct # and first name and get him to drop the $ in, and insist CASH ONLY (ie the buyer must physically walk into a bank in his hometown). No way a guy can scam you just because he has some bank account number + name, he doesn't even know your SIN/address/DOB/whatever. The transaction is then easy enough to check with online banking. If he drops in a cheque (yes, there are dumb people out there), insist on 10 business days (holding period) to make sure the cheque clears. At this point you have HIS money, so you have nothing to lose. I've purchased items this way before. If you do it this way, the buyer's probably more scared of being scammed than you are. As a LG Xenon owner as well, the price you got isn't bad at all. Hell, if you don't take this deal, I'll sell him mine. ;) And as buddy said above, PayPal also works. You'll lose $10 or so in fees, but this is by far the easiest way. |
whatever you do... DO NOT ship the item - This isn't ebay, there's no "buyer/seller protection" in place, so if the deal turns sour and he says he never got the item and decides to do something about it, you are out of luck. It's just my own little rule for dealing on CL, no shipping - although I know people that shipped to Victoria with no problems. |
