Manfrotto help?

Hey guys,

The locking pin lever broke off on my manfrotto 486rc2 head, is this part replaceable? Where can I find the part?

Thanks

Where did you buy it?

I'm guessing you need part# R308.90? Is it the little brass pin that secures the main lever? You'll need to get the whole plate adapter, as just the pin is not available as a separate part, unfortunately. Looks like the part will cost about $23, and is currently in stock at the Manfrotto warehouse in Toronto...I can get it in next week at the earliest if you want.

Jason, I think he's talking about the smaller locking pin that locks the quick release lever. It would be found to the right of R234.13 on the bottom plate. You usually flip it one way to lock the lever from un-locking.

I could be wrong though.

^^ That's what I meant, the little brass pin that secures the main locking lever and prevents one from unwittingly releasing the plate.

ya, i'm talking about the little secure brass pin that keeps the main lever from flipping while the camera is on the tripod.... thanks senna

I guess I should call beau and ask for who? ^.^

Thanks

hmm now the question is, how do you detach the plate from the ball stem? is it just a snap ring?

My name's Jason.

It looks like the plate adapter just unscrews, but it on there quite tight.

Wow you can actually replace that small little pin? That's good to know!

Well, kinda....you can't buy just the pin. You have to buy the entire R308.90 part.
