Car outlets...
 

I realized in my TL that my car outlets aren't working. So I'm assuming one of the fuses may have blown. I check up in my manual which fuse needs to be replaced... and as I'm looking at it, I have no clue which one it is.

Anyone know which fuse is needed to be replaced to get my outlets working again?

uhh...... i dont think we can help you with no picture of the box itself or the manual...

Usually, there is a diagram on the cover or inside the cover. Either a label or etched on the plastic.

That's all I can think of for now. Depending on the vehicle, you can have two or three different fuse locations. One by the battery, another one on the other side of the engine compartment, and finally the one in the kick panel. The one in the kick panel is most likely the one that has the fuse for the 12 volt plugs.

Once you have the right location, check your manual to see what the ratings are. Just follow what it says. For example: (5) 10 amps in a row then (2) 15 amp, then (1) 5. It's pretty easy to figure out which way the diagram goes from that. The fuse block should have a fuse puller clipped on somewhere. Once you find the right fuse, test to see if the fuse is indeed blown by using a multi tester.

Whatever you do, do not put in a higher rated fuse. If t calls for a 15 amp, don't go putting in a 20 amp.
