depends on why you would want to? is it because you miss the sex or hoping this will help you get back with your partner?
if it's because you miss the sex, make sure both of you are cool with it.
if it's because you want him/her back, i say don't do it. don't complicate things more with intimacy.

Sex with EX's is fun... sometimes you get to hate fuck them. Hate fucking is fun. I think of ex's as a game sometimes... they said they hate you ... but yet... you want to see if you can fuck them again. Quite the challenge haha. I've overcome a few "I never want to see you again's" and ended up with... "Well ok we did have great sex but its just sex!!!" haha

Sex is rarely (if ever at all) an isolated experience. Even if there were no "feelings" (as so aptly put) involved, many interpersonal factors still apply.
Sex is just sex, but you would never have consensual sex with a selfish cocky neurotic bastard that you're not mentally, physically, or emotionally attracted to.

All you need is at least physical attraction, hell I know people who claim they're not even attracted to someone and STILL they fuck them.
If you can disengage yourself emotionally from someone, or you're doing it as revenge (bad idea usually), it'll be only sex, a physical thing and nothing more.
