2010 Ford S-Max and Galaxy Facelifts
 

Ford is officially confirming earlier reports and leaked photosof the facelifted 2010 Ford S-Max and 2010 Ford Galaxy. As previouslyreported, the two models will take center stage at the 2010 Brussels Motor Show, and will appear with a new EcoBoost turbocharged engine.

"We've given both models a fresh new look and more premium appeal,but it is beneath the skin that the major changes have been made," saidFord Europe chief John Fleming. Fleming is referring to the newengine, a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine thatbenefits from direct-injection. Co-produced with Volvo, the enginereplaces the 2.3-liter unit previously offered.

Also new is the 161-horsepower version of the improved 2.0-liter Duratorq TDCi diesel,which joins the 138hp and 113hp versions. As standard, the petrolengine will be paired with the PowerShift double wet-clutchtransmission. This comes as an option when purchasing a diesel unit.

The petrol unit is rated at 34.8mpg, with extra urban drivingleading to 44.1mpg. A 19 percent emissions reduction is seen, takingthe figure to 189 grams per kilometer. With a diesel, fuel economy canbe increased up to almost 50mpg, with emissions down to 152 g/km,according to the company.

Inside, drivers and passengers will notice new materials meant to bemore "luxurious and dynamic." S-Max drivers will like the addedstorage space and powered sun blinds, and the available LED interiorlighting.

Outside, customers of both vehicles should be happy with thefacelift, including the new front fascia and freshened grille on each. S-Max fans will notice the optional LED daytime lights built into there-designed front bumper, and the rear LED light cluster that extendsfurther along the sides. Galaxy customers get new fog lights, rear LEDlight clusters, and a better-designed back end.

Expect the 2010 Ford S-Max and the 2010 Ford Galaxy to be released early next year.

they really want to be as economic as possible...

if these were only sold here....

Ford has some really nice euro cars.

I would buy this over sienna and odyssey based on the look alone! And this has DCT!
