Quick question i just received a speeding ticket, the police spelled my name wrong then the one that appear on my driver license,so does that mean i can dispute the ticket?thanks for any input |
Is your name in the shaded area? I don't have a ticket to compare to. If your name is in the shaded area, then you can't dispute it. The other thing that will happen is that the judge will look at the ticket and decide if there is adequate information on the ticket to identify that you are the driver that was ticketed (ie. DL#). |

The ticket is still valid even if your name is spelled wrong (i.e. if it is a minor typo and not simply the wrong name altogether). |

Even if it is misspelled in the non shaded areas, the issuing Member can apply to the JP to correct the information before he proceeds with the trial at court day. It comes down to identification...if the rest of the info is correct then a letter out of place should not be a fatal flaw to the crown's case. There is your DL number, address, vehicle regsitration, the fact that the driver resembled the picture on your DL etc..... |
thanks for the info guys |
quick question for OP, where did you recieve your speeding ticket? Thanks |
