buying stuff from A-Power???? has anyone bought anything from A-power before? i bought a samsung lcd monitor from them the other day, came home and tried it out and there are some dead pixels in the middle. Took it back to A-power the next day, and they have a no exchange/return policy. they can do a refund if i pay a $50 transaction fee. does anyone have this issue before? what is the best thing i should do right now thanks |
I've bought stuff from there before and everything went fine. I didnt have to deal with exchanges/refunds though. I'm surprised they're screwing you on it. I buy everything through NCIX now because I know how accommodating they are. |
seems you're out of luck then. if they clearly state on their policy that they have no return no exchanges. then they probably won't budge. but at least now us revsceners won't buy anything from a-power |

but i guess they intentionally screwed you since they didnt bother telling you about no exchange/refund |
yeah damn, i thought they would at least exchange it |
NCIX would've been the same. except you can buy dead pixel coverage from them. usually, having a few dead pixels (<10) is not considered faulty, but buying dead pixel coverage, even one would allow you to exchange it. |
I've bought some computer hd, fans, memory from a power with no problems |
when dealing with discount stores, they usually have horrible return/exchange policies. I guess you can say its the price you pay for a deal. Another option is to try dealing with Samsung directly. |
monitors, i usually take it out of the box right there, and get the salesman to plug it in to test before i buy and take home. |
I prefer NCIX. They're pretty nice compared to A-Power, I find. |

I used to buy from A-Power exclusively, before NCIX got so big (and opened Richmond). Had no problems with them back then. |
I haven't bought anything from A-Power in many years but the sales person should've informed you about the pixels. At the very least you should've expected it and asked about it if yours does have a pixel issue. I pretty much get all my computer stuff at NCIX now. The service I get there is a lot better then the other stores. |
i dunno, if i was buying an LCD monitor and the salesman told me I cant even exchange it, I would just walk out |
I usually tell people to pricematch at a box store (Staples, Futureshop, Best Buy, Costco) as they have generous return policies. As for myself, I usually buy direct from factory because I don't buy cheap monitors. |
You really only have 2 choices. Live with the dead pixels, or pay $50. It's your call. No one else can make this decision for you. If you decide to pay the $50, you should then take your business to NCIX and pay $13.50 for their Express Coverage. You probably would have gotten the same response at NCIX if you didn't buy the Express Coverage at NCIX. That's why it's offered. You might consider getting a monitor with a different panel. You might be luckier. |
imo no reason to go anywhere but NCIX and if you bitch enough at NCIX you can usually get your way. |
