Nissan GT-R does 0-60mph in 2.98 seconds with its updated launch control as we know Nissan has updated GT-R's launch control, and here's the result :) http://www.dragtimes.com/blog/nissan...h-2-98-seconds |
The car in the video has a custom tune that bumps up the boost a bit along with some K&N drop-in filters. Unfortunately, it's not stock. Also, LC2 has been around for a while. |
it's never a launch control.... |
2.98 ?! I find that a bit hard to believe. |
edit. |
if it's true that's pretty amazing less then 3 seconds... wow |
Wow... under 3 seconds!? |

GT-R is an impressive car. It's like a corvette, exotic performance for bargain price. |
"measured with a G-Tech Pro RR" Thank goodness they chose to use accurate equipment! |
umm from what i've read in the reviews, 2010 GT-R's dont have launch control... source: http://www.autoblog.com/2009/07/27/r...a-have-a-soul/ "First and foremost, we should cover what's new for 2010. The big news is bye-bye launch control. We found the GT-R's penchant for grenading transmissions humorous (from a distance), but alas, farewell. However... maybe it's still there? Maybe Nissan was only telling people launch control had been deleted? We found a very deserted stretch of road, put the transmission and suspension into R mode, turned the VDC all the way off, planted our left foot on the brake pedal and pushed the throttle with our right. Instead of the tach zinging up to 4,500 rpm, fuel cutoff happens right around 2,000 rpm. Launch control is deader than last Thanksgiving's turkey. That's not very soulful." "60 mph happens in less than four seconds (thanks to launch control delete, the GT-R no longer hunts in the 3.2/3.3-second Enzo/ZR1 woods) and the quarter-mile is annihilated in less than twelve. Trap speed? 120 mph, give or take. Top speed? North of 190 mph." |
Autoblog was wrong on that one. The 2010 GT-Rs (and re-flashed 2009s) do indeed have launch control, but it holds the RPM at 3000 rather than 4500, as was with the initial programming. |
wow sub 3...? |
thoroughly impressive tale, ol' chap |
