Time-limited edits So we've witnessed pretty much the ultimate fail, with cvcdx getting fully owned in his own thread, then going back and editing/deleting all his posts in said thread before slinking away with his tail between his legs: http://www.revscene.net/forums/keep-10i-t595609.html I think it might be an idea to limit the time one has to edit/delete one's own posts... for example, on some forums, once your post has been replied to, you can no longer edit it. On others, you get 15 minutes to make changes after the initial post, and after that, that post can no longer be edited. What do y'all think? |
Do not want. If its something like a self ownage in progress, one should be smart enough to screenshot proof of the epicness. |
One should only be opposed to this idea if one is predisposed to epic self-ownage ;) |
I have committed no such acts before. This would just make it more difficult for OPs of buy and sell threads to update their first post with more information, price drops, pictures, etc. I say just leave it as is. Being a mod on another forum, I'm sure you can talk to one of them since they can see all the previous posts before the edit. All is not lost. |
So, it's applied on a per-forum basis to the likes of Fight Club, VOT, etc. We have an FC-type forum on another site I administer, and have completely disabled the ability to edit or delete posts within that forum... the idea being, if yer gonna talk shit, yer gonna hafta live with it! |
So....its only you and me. You want to grab a coffee or something? |
Only if it's got Kahlua in it. |
It's okay. Mods can view the edit and pre edit posts and/or deleted posts as well. If need be, one of us could post up the original post. |
^ That's what I said. |
Okay, who wants to go and put ALL of cvcdx's posts back in the above-mentioned thread? Nobody? Thought so. Actually, screw that thread, I'd love to see someone go replace SkinnyPupp's deleted posts in the "fucked up shit" thread. |
i wanna see the edited posts!! edit, put original post in wrong thread |
