I picked up the TomTom GO 630 for $180 pricematching The Source earlier this month. It works really well.
It's actually on for $170 @ The Source ... Pricematching at Staples would bring it down to $153 (don't bother trying to match on Boxing Day, they won't do it, but if you try later on in the week, they probably will. The Source has it on sale until the 31st). http://www.thesource.ca/estore/produ...roduct=1914013
If you're going to get one, make sure you get one w/ Bluetooth so you can sync your phone and use it for hands-free calling, get traffic updates, fuel prices, etc. (not in the XL 330S or 255W, but is in the 265WT).

I prefer the garmin, not as fast as the tomtom
But I have noticed that the Tomtom doesn't have some addresses I needed on numerous occasions so I switched to garmin

They carry some Garmins, too, the 255w is listed at $128 in the flyer.

And on that note, can anyone suggest any others for ~$100 range (preferably under)? A few addresses aside, how would you compare the TomTom and the Garmin mentioned above? Dad wants something, so I'm looking for a larger screen for him, and the easier to use, the better. I like how TomTom lists that maps can be updated by the "community", sounds like a selling point to me...

As long as you can update the maps on it, and can get from point A to point B, is there really a need to compare GPS'es?

| Map Corrections ,as they are called ,do not reflect if a street is missing or a roundabout is added .You need to upgrade to a newer map for these. You will however see if enough people have corrected a wrong way street or some such that won't need a physical correction to a Map.
I really like the http://www.tomtomforums.com/index.php (not officially sponsored by TomTom ,so you get real life feedback and not propaganda IMO )
Bought my Dad the Garmin 260W and it was a real pain to update map/software (three different software installs to my comp) as opposed to TomToms TTHome software that is very easy to use IMO.I had a bit of an issue trying to set his Home location as they are in "North Cowichan" as opposed to "Duncan" where I was trying to type in their location.
Not a valid comparison I know because the G0920 and 260W and not in the same category, but I assume the software to update and Map idiosyncrasies should be the same over the whole of the manufactures lines of GPSs.

I have a Magellan Maestro that can do those things (got it free with the new Jeep)... but updating the maps costs $100 for new maps each year, and the model itself doesn't seem to be supported AT ALL, even by Magellan. So, ease/frequency/cost of updates is worth comparing.
Then there are features like bluetooth, voice command, map/directions accuracy, display quality, battery life, traffic support... on and on it goes.
If there was nothing to compare, you wouldn't have models ranging from $50 to $500.

Google Maps still doesn't show it (in fact, they used to have pics of it partially constructed on the satellite view, but they've now reverted to an older image that has no sign of the bridge construction).

^That's the one! Nice!
My f'n Magellan, I was sitting once at the Fort Langley ferry terminal (small ferry across the river to Maple Ridge), and just out of curiosity, asked it to plot me a route home to Pitt Meadows. Stupid thing SHOWS there's a ferry there, but decided it should send me all the way back to the Port Mann bridge, a good 20km out of my way.

^I went for one of those too - refurb from Visions for $88.
Their flyer said "unlimited quantities" so I waited until this evening to let the crowds die down... got there and they were sold out. So I pointed at the flyer and told the guy, "It says unlimited quantities here! If it was limited, I woulda stood in line this morning!". So he gave me a chit for a backorder on it. Said it should be there within a few days.
