Behind the Secret Service

Quote:

"Most people duck when they hear gunshots. . . But Secret Service agents need to do just the opposite. . . When shots are fired, we're trained to pull our weapon, stand up straight, and return fire. Instead of protecting ourselves, we turn ourselves into a larger target. That's one reason why all of our weapons training is done standing up. We don't do any prone shooting."

Locked, Loaded

Not surprisingly, perhaps—in light of the front-line nature of both the "investigation" and "protection" elements of the job—the weaponry available to agents is among the most advanced and lethal on the planet, including SIG Sauer P229 pistols fit with huge .357 cartridges; classic Remington 870 shotguns; light (7 lb.), 30-round, state-of-the-art M4 carbines; Uzis; and the compact, thoroughly nasty-looking Belgian FN P90 submachine gun (pictured) with a top-mounted magazine of armor-piercing rounds.

True. No one's gonna bother assassinating those CEO guys. Although they are pretty important, they aren't important enough to a lot of people... especially to the people that have money to hire assassins.
