Facebook Wall Privacy

Ever since the new privacy updates, has anyone figured out how to hide shit from showing up on their wall?

I use to hide everything from my wall except comments from friends, but now I get little annoying shits on my wall.

e.g. Hard Gay commented on Soft Gay's status, Hard Gay wrote on Soft Gay's wall, etc.

I literally went through all the account and privacy settings, and can not seem to find the option that controls this.

Thanks

You sure it's not your alter ego posting on your own wall?

click on account and privacy settings:

Posts by Me
Default setting for Status Updates, Links, Notes, Photos, and Videos you post

that should be set to "ONLY ME" if you don't want anyone to see it.

as for THC's problem...

Allow friends to post on my Wall, should be checked off.

you can preview your page by going to the preview button and seeing what it looks like to others.

^

Doing that, only people can see my info tab.

oh
sorry i did a little more research.

yeah, the new new newest facebook which not all of you may have yet, doesn't let you do this anymore. they simplified it even more.

I guess they took it in the direction I hoped they would. they are making it less private and more open.

they made it so if you want to discriminate against certain 'friends' u have on your list, you have to do some work, aka, every post you have to make it a custom post to hide it from whoever u don't want seeing it.
each of your posts are customized there's a little icon that you can choose who sees your posts each update (friends, friends of friends, everyone, or no one, or custom).

facebook is more open and less privacy restrictions, like it should be.

so it's a lot more black and white now, you either want people to see all your activites, or you don't let them see any of it. either you let your friends see all your wall, or none of it, nothing inbetween now.

as for your original problem... you have to delete each individual activity post on your wall that you don't want others to see.

if u dont want to look like ur on fb 24/7 - dont be on it 24/7.

i dont see why someone would want to hide those little feeds on the wall.....

to add on to ulic's point, the reason why facebook decided to be more open, and decided to change their privacy settings is because they need more open data. if your data is opened to public (or simply opened more), facebook can use this data to generate a social trend network. with this network created based on your data, they will be able to market based on such trends, and therefore have profit. if your data was under the old privacy settings, they will not be able to gain access legally to enough data to generate a social trend.

facebook did not have a definitive marketing strategy back then. only until recently is mark zuckerberg thinking clearly about a goal for facebook. remember that facebook is a free service, there has to be a catch. the catch is your data. anything you put online has the potential to be shared to other people.

I had my profile pretty locked-down to begin with, and the new settings I found made it easier to "batch-edit" my privacy, so to speak. It's even more locked-down now hahaha

Me, I just made a list of people I don't want seeing my stuff and locked everything down.
