According to the Harvard Business Review an issue or two ago, a short article listed all the developed nations with fairly lopsided percentage household spending for men vs. women. I wish I were at the library to able to give more details on this. It could very well have been a very misleading bar list.

Typically,in developed nations, the women do the brunt of the household spending. In China its the opposite.

According to pg 6. of "The Female Economy",the key wording is "Controlled by Woman". It was a great read now that i remember.
