Windows Product Activation Problems? I've got an MSDN account (had it for a while, prior to the big sale a few months ago if thats relevant) and I used it to install my copy of Windows 7. It told me on bootup that my copy isn't legit but when I check my product activation utility it tells me it is. Anyone else know about this? Happen to anyone else? Any ideas? |
Did you install it more than once? MSDN is a one time use key only. I used a 32 bit version at first but then sold my laptop and used the 64bit with the same key but it says it was used and wouldn't let me validate it. I had to call in and do it manually and read out the string of numbers and they sent me a string of new activation code to get it validated. Just tell them you reformatted your computer and need it activated again. |
if you reformat your computer, the same activation code should have worked. i think you're supposed to tell them your motherboard died and you needed to reinstall windows. |
i had to re-activate after updating vmware tools on my macbook just follow the instructions and call microsoft.... pretty annoying tho |
