Future Shop Extended Warranty on laptops @ 3rd servicing?

OK.. can someone elaborate on the Future Shop extended warranty whereas if you need servicing a 3rd time, they would simply replace the product?

My friend has a laptop that had gone in twice already within 4 weeks and had her HDD replaced. Now her CDROM seems to be bugging out... this would be the 3rd time she'd have to bring it in... what will their action be? immediate replacement OR yet fix it again one last time?

From what I remember it has to be the SAME problem 3 times.

So the hdd has to break down 3 times before replacement.

Unless something has changed in their policy recently.

they could also mean "replacing" in the sense of offering you a buy out on the laptop. which i have heard many times, but usually it's just a rip off on the customer since the buyout will be around about 50% of the cost of the laptop

As a associate working at futureshop, it can be any 3 repairs, but the unit will be replaced on the FOURTH time not the third.

As an ex employee of the company. I must say, the warranty is complete and utter garbage. Next time, buy a product with your Visa. At least your warranty will be extended.
