Inches away from cruiser T-boning me...rant Last night on my way home from my friends place, was heading east on 57th and stopped at the Granville light. When the light turned green i proceeded to accelerate into the intersection only to notice not very far away going south on Granville was an SUV cruiser (those black ones...chevrolet i think) speeding and not even minding the red light...his sirens and lights were not on until he noticed me in the middle of the intersection...i had to slam on my brakes to avoid getting ploughed by this guy...and then he fires his sirens and honks at me... how is this my fault? if this police had his sirens on i wouldve gladly stopped where i was and allowed him to go through the light but his sirens werent on till he nearly killed me and after he passed the intersection he turned them off... resident police officers...why do u guys do this...abuse of power? |
Iirc the black SUV's are usually ERT? Which would explain no sirens. |
maybe you're over reacting? maybe the siren and honk was out of courtesy? like "oops i fucked up" *squack - honk* C-ya! |

Sad thing is if there was a collision, you would probably be at fault if there was no witness. |
As I've always said, if you are not happy with police actions, complain. Given the date, place and time it can't be too hard to figure out who it was. In fact, the GPS logs can show where the individual police vehicles were on a particular time and date. |
But this is revscene and everyone knows that on revscene people just like to bitch about the police, not actually do anything. |

But, if you're really ticked about it, do what Skidmark says. Complain! It can't hurt! |
That's true, but most people just scowl and continue on their way, they don't tell everyone they see (including absolute strangers and other police officers) how they feel about what happened. |

the SUV probably was doing work on his in-car laptop and didn't realize he was running a light until the last minute? |

^ Has anyone been able to testify that theyve been fined $167 for cellphone usage while driving? |
Seeing as they're not actually handing out tickets for that until Feb.... no, probably not. |
