| Recommendations on 2-way car alarm/starter combo?
Hey,
Can you guys recommend a good 2-way car alarm/starter combo? I'm looking for one that includes two 2-way lcd remotes. Is Compustar the way to go? If so, what model?
Thanks in advance.

I just did a Compustar PRO in my new car and it works great. Actually this is the only alarm I have installed in the last 5 cars that i have owned - I will never consider any other alarm because none of them stack up to the quality, reliability, warranty, ease of use and install and overall value.
We do so many of these things its not even funny! People who know quality, know Compustar.

I love my Compustar Pro. Worth the money. Range is incredible. I got Orgasmic and company to install it, too. Alarms are such a pain in the ass to install that it's worth getting someone to install it. Not only that, but if something goes wrong, you're covered. That's peace of mind right there. If you love your car, it's the only way to go.

What is the differences between RF-P2WSS and RF-P2W9000-SS other than the remote? Is 1 better than the other? They seem to have very similar specs.

They don't have the same PRO model down in the states because their range is much less (less than half our range) due to frequency limitations.

since there's so much discussion about compustar...
here's some interesting trivial info on how compustar ended up using 433 and 900mhz for their alarms... http://www.qsl.net/va3bmc/compusta.htm http://www.qsl.net/va3bmc/response.htm |

What's this guy talking about?
"The Compustar device is supposed to be momentary, active only when there are changes in status or an alarm condition. However, perhaps due to the Korean-English instruction manual, or inexperienced installers, a few Toronto area firms have been installing the alarm device miswired to the brake circuit, so that they transmit continuously while the vehicle brakes are depressed... for a repeater in a large city, there are always many cars to be heard. In Toronto, due to dysfunctional traffic patterns, brake pedal application exceeds throttle application. The Compustar effects are audibly worst during "rush hour" when most traffic isn't moving. "

" | i didn't quite figure out that part either..maybe some installer was wiring the triggers to some brake circuit? some installers do really weird things (ie. that place on Kingsway that thought they could parallel bridge front/rear speakers on a deck)
