that sucks!

?NR 01-01-2010 11:30 PM

Same scenario happened before.

ICBC adjuster said : "you shouldn't have swerved, you should've just let them hit you".

Do you have any info on this other car? If no they will deem it a single car accident, at your fault ofcourse.

Control arm, rear axle carrer/knuckle, sway links, shock, hub + bearing, rim. Hope there is no subframe damage.

elkayem 01-01-2010 11:33 PM

To answer the questions I was going 60kmh.

No I couldn't get down his plate cuz he turned the other direction, not sure if he even knew I crashed, he just sped down the road.
Not sure how fast he was going coming out but it was pretty fast, it's the sudden jerk of the swerve that swung my car around.

Yes I had to roll home like that...rolled in 2nd gear with hazards the whole way
No witness, the road was empty. Also yes I hit the curb at full speed

Well I might be wrong, but it should state how long the road side assistance is in the little booklet.

!Aznboi128 01-02-2010 09:29 AM

^ just got a new rdx, it's 4 yrs

azncreationz 01-02-2010 10:29 AM

Leopold Stotch 01-02-2010 12:02 PM

yea shitty deal man

too bad you didn't hit him, at least then they'd be at fault, but i think you did the right thing for the situation at hand.

hope it doesn't cost too much.

tofu1413 01-02-2010 01:06 PM

if you can give me the correct part numbers for the components needed... maybe i can help.

lmk!

elkayem 01-02-2010 01:30 PM

Took it to the shop already! They haven't started working yet so I haven't gotten any estimated price yet.

Thanks everyone for the feed back, made me feel a bit better having you guys let me rant.

I'll update you guys with the cost :(

spoon.ek9 01-02-2010 02:50 PM

i think its going to be pricy :(

tofu1413 01-02-2010 03:08 PM

well, the parts at msrp still wont be that bad. suspension links, lca's dont cost that much actually... and i think i see the sway bar being bent. =/ hope the hub is ok though. thats perhaps the priciest part (well, the part and the labor)

shop would jip you in labor though.. and looks like you're gonna need a new wheel.. (might as well replace the whole set!)

Yeah, thanks for the offer though Alex.

I have it at the shop, I'm ready for the shock when they tell me the estimated price.
My wallet is out and open to get it fixed. If not, I might have to lend parents money and pay them back. I'm pretty broke recently, can not really afford having an accident. Sucks having to lend money from parents at 21 but I have no choice, either leave it like this (which I can't stand) or lend money to get it fixed.

As for labour, I hope it won't be that bad. Took it to my uncle's shop, I'm sure he'll be nice to my wallet and not strip it nekkid. lols

As to the wheel, probs not gonna do much to it, just gonna repaint it and use it for winters. I guess it's an excuse for new wheel.

Someone in Acurazine said probably a new camber kit and sway would fix it but I doubt it's that simple. Seriously hope no subframe damage. But the control arms are pretty bent so they most likely absorbed all the impact.

lend money? don't you mean borrow money from parents?

tofu1413 01-02-2010 10:49 PM

hmm.. if i remember correctly.. there is a TL being parted out on Craigslist.. that has front end accident.. maybe you can salvage some parts off of it.

I don't understand the fails. Yes, I'm pretty sure that the OP means borrow $ from his parents.

Many Chinese speakers (ESL) mix up borrow and lend, because they're the same word in Chinese (well, Canto, anyways... should be the same for Mandarin).
