Problem with our company website

Hi all, your help is greatly appreciated.

I work for an accounting firm called Almunir Remtulla & Co. and we have a website at www.remtulla.ca. My problem is, on some computers, you need to type in the "www" before the "remtulla.ca" whilst on other computers you don't. On my iphone, I don't need to type in the "www" while on my home computer, I need to type in the "www" otherwise the webpage won't show up.

Our outsourced tech guy can't seem to give me a straight answer and hasn't resolved the problem.

This is a problem because I'm concerned that some of our clients might think that our website is down not knowing that they need to type in the "www".

Could someone please help me with an explanation as to why I am having this problem and perhaps guide me to a resolution?

Feel free to shoot me an email at jimmy@remtulla.ca.

Thanks,

Jimmy

www is actually a subdomain of remtulla.ca.

For example: blog.remtulla.ca

You will have to ask your tech guy to look at either updating the DNS or use the .htacess to redirect all traffic requests of either www.remtulla.ca to remtulla.ca or vice versa.

seems like you need a better tech guy.

Might I suggest Sea to Sky Network Solutions in Vancouver. They did an awesome job on our infrastructure swap, and network setup. They get small business. http://www.seatosky.com/

You can talk to Mike or Jason.

www.themessagestudios.com

Mostly Toronto/Montreal but I have a few friends that work there and it's a pretty great outfit.

You pretty much just need to do what Preemo said though.

I can't even remember the last time i typed .com lol

I use keyboard shortcuts to add in the www and the com.

It's too much of a hassle otherwise!

I used to use ctrl+enter as well and then realized that with firefox you don't need to. Just type in whatever you would normally put in google to find it and it takes you straight there. Great for looking up movies just type "imdb avatar" (no quotes) and you go right to the avatar imdb page.

looking at the domain you have conflicting A records in your zone file.

Your www record is pointing to the correct IP but your Master A record is pointing to 2 different places. Thus only some of your employees being able to load the pages, because one of the IP's is not the correct one..

host remtulla.ca
remtulla.ca A 198.147.41.48
remtulla.ca A 192.168.0.3

host www.remtulla.ca
www.remtulla.ca A 198.147.41.48

Long story short you need to contact Whom ever manages your Zonefile and remove the "remtulla.ca A 192.168.0.3" record.

If you want a further explanation or more assistance with your website/hosting/dns issues. Hit me up via PM, this is what i do for a living! :)

This took me 10 seconds to find your issue. You should consider finding a new administrator/IT guy. This was very straight forward to resolve.
