Yao, 29, marked his marriage to longtime girlfriend Ye, 28, with a lavish August 2007 ceremony.

The couple hasn't decided yet where the baby will be born, but whether boy or girl, "lil' Yao" is sure to be one thing: creepy tall. Yao stands at 7-foot-6-inches, while Ye towers over most women at 6-foot-2.

In a recent Sina.com online poll, 76 percent of more than 29,000 people voting said that Yao's child was likely to grow taller than 6-foot-8, while 33 percent said the baby would grow taller than 7-foot-2. However, according to the calculations of medical experts, cited by China Daily, if the child is male, he probably will reach a height of between 6-foot-6 to 7-foot-3. Translation: the kid is going to be huge.

Not that it matters. The lil' tyke is probably already the leading vote-getter in the Western Conference, after the fourth returns of the NBA All-Star balloting are released. China, man. China. So powerful.

If it's born and raised in the US, it won't be short. It'll get real milk

can they even tell what determins the height of children? my parents are just above short and i am 6'6 and my middle bro is just 6'0 and my older bro is 6'7

uh... You might want to get a DNA test to see if your dad is in fact your real dad if both your parents are "shorter" cuz genetics definitely play a role in height..

Everyone is bigger is North America. Even Asians here are bigger than Asians in Asia (in general of course, Yao Ming is born & raised in China afterall). Must be the food that we eat.

yeha my dad is 5-8 and mom is 5-3 but im 6-1 and my sis is 5-9

it's got little to do with genetics nowadays... i mean come on how does someone from a background of the general population all being barely 5 ft tall on average, have a 6 ft tall kid all of a sudden... its all the steroids that are pumped into the animals that we eat... kids drinking the milk, eating that meat, and growing like crazy

China guys north of Canton still average like 5'10" to 6'2" not that tall.
