props ...

i think it'd work here ~ probably not $200 -> $0.01 but ... if done right i think the savings would still be significant

it balances out at the end with all the time it takes to go out and look for coupons. probably works out to be working an 8$ hour job...

i doubt the cashier would care. if anything this would make the cashier's job more exciting. they are paid per hour and not by comission anyways

probably the person behind in line would be pissed

I don't think she spent that much time searching for coupons (lots of duplicates). Even if she did spend twenty hours searching for the coupons and whoring extra coupons, it still works out to more than $15/h after tax ($267 groceries + $79 drugstore).

She gets some credit for doing this, even if some of it seems rather underhanded to me -- like the $1 portions of fish

I don't think the coupons up here are nearly as generous...

Best I've done was $50 off a $250 bill.

Amazing.

Really depends on the retailer and I really think they are smarter in Canada. Administrative costs are high for coupons so companies like Costco won't accept them unless they are a Costco coupon.

most coupon said you cannot combine it with other offers
she could be working full-time making all those calculations/collecting coupons

I guess if you don't value your time and gas to some extent then its really $4 a week. However, its too much of a hassle if you are working or have things to do but can't due to spending time on this.

there is a chance that it will work here...i think part of it was in the beginning they spent money on their original stockpile of food...from there she will buy things that are on sale or cost close to nothing as 'extras' as just it was looking at her 'stockpile' of stuff..

if someone can trade a paperclip for a house here in canada...why not coupons for food items..?

c'mon people are already speculating that it can't happen but it seems that you're just to lazy to really try it out...

and saying that you'd feel like a douche doing that...these store are making a killing for that type of mentality...

in the end...blame icbc and translink...lol...hehe

Pretty sure most coupons say "one coupon per day per customer"

and "not redeemable with any other offer"

I think they have more sales and coupons down there cuz their market is 10x bigger..

But I wouldn't feel like a dirt bag for getting $300 worth of stuff for free if all they need to do is scan them in.

"a couple of hours per week".. let's say 6

$260 + $70 = $330

So for this week, we can guess something like $55/hr.. not bad when you got 6 kids to feed.

remember she has 6 kids... the majority of her time is more than likely going into raising them rather than scrounging for coupons and she doesnt have to go to all sorts of stores.... did you watch the video?? she went to 2 a pharmacy and a supermarket...
