Claiming Craftsman Warranty

craftsman from sears right?

just bring the tool there, and show them, they should then fill out the forms. it should be lifetime warranty.

id avoid the metrotown one, i went there and well, yes, they were "tools" as they had no idea how to go thru the process. i ended up going to the sears at brentwood. they gave me a new clicking mechanism which i had to install myself for the socket wrench

I broke a couple 1/2 drive breaker bars, just walked in each time (no receipt), showed the cashier in the tool department, they filled out a form if I recall, and was given a new one no questions asked. If there was anything to worry about, it would be to call ahead to make sure they have whatever you need in stock.

i broke a few craftsman swivels (no receipt), went to the metrotown sears and had no problems getting them replace there. they did fill out a form and gave me a reciept for the warranty

Yep that's pretty much it. I walk in with a broken tool and leave with a new one.

I gathered all my broken Craftsman screwdrivers one day and went to the Sears in Abbotsford. No problem. No forms to sign on shit like that.

I returned a ratchet to Canadian Tire once. The guy brings out his repair kit. He couldn't fix it, so I got a new one. Filled out a quick form.

A few years ago, Home Depot offered a "bring in any competitor tool and we'll give you a new Husky tool as replacement" promo. I took in an old Craftsman that had seen better days (skipped once in a while) and I got a nice shiny Husky which felt and worked better. That program is now over, but it was good.

All these places have lifetime warranty on their tools. If they say no, then they need to remove that claim and nobody will buy anything from them again.

according to people on redflagdeals.com, crappy tire changed their policy. they now require proof of purchase else no tool will be warrantied.

In years past I used the sears in north van to warranty all my craftsman tools tho and the tools were replaced never repaired (except power tools) with quick knowledgeable service.
I'm different in the fact that my tools are a daily requirement now and time is money. With that being said having to return your tools over and over again (one of my shop bitches is there weekly it seems) to get a warranty replacement or repair is hardly worth it. Almost everything I get comes off a truck when it breaks that truck comes to me that day and the operator of said truck handles all paper work and replaces/repairs my tool right there.

Mastercraft tools have been better quality than Sears over the past few years. Warranty work is seamless, they can't deny the tool didn't perform as specified when you bring in physical evidence that the tool failed. All you do is take it to the tool center and they replace it for you right then and there.

I don't buy the craftsman line anymore, the mastercraft on special is better value.
