rx7 shops So I know i'll probably get some guys telling me to do my research but I already have. I read the threads bashing force fed and I heard some good about staffs but at the same time i'm wondering if there are any other good shops for rx7 work that is reasonable pricing. Any REAL advice would be helpful |
Are you on an exclusive RX7 forum? That's where i would start. Go to a couple meets and hear what's up and where people go. |
mj check bcrotary.com, the shop list is still up, though I'm not sure when it was last updated. You'll at least be able to get the shop names and google them. its in the rotary talk forum. couple that I know of locally are: Eunos in North Van Tekam in Burnaby |
Adam RX7 specialities (motors ) calgary AB Tel (403) 246-6980 Allan Autotech Burnaby phone: 604-451-1760 Enhanced Autoworks Kamloops 250-851-9780 Eunos Custom Automotive North Vancouver, BC Phone: 604-924-9669 Forcefed Performance Turbo & Tuning Ltd Abbotsford, British Columbia Shop: 604-852-3755 Racing Greed Coquitlam 604-931-8885 Staff's Auto Centre North Vancouver, BC Phone: 604-988-3031 TEKAM AUTOMOTIVE LTD BURNABY, BC Phone: 604-430-6404 $$$$$$$$$ four wheel drive ltd Swift 7s Surrey 604-526-4800 Copy pasted from bcrotary. |
Forcefed Performance Turbo & Tuning Ltd Abbotsford, British Columbia Shop: 604-852-3755 that is basically all you will need, Marco knows his shit and is prolly the best rotary guy in BC |
I thought Forcefed is in Langley? |
they moved. and rotary rage, it's always best to call around. mj.rx7 are you looking for someone to build you a race car? or are you looking for restoration work? or just factory spec work? |
^they are. They moved last month or the month before. I'm interested to see what happens when the new shop opens up. And RR, not everyone likes Marko and vice versa. |

i'm looking for mods basicly just wondering what kind of money I need to save and or what my options are. From what I saw on one of the threads force fed wasn't any good... but basicly i'd love to get a 20b put in or like i say atleast see what my other options are |
Save 20k. Pay someone to build you a nice car. |

Go to rx7club.com. Read up on other 20B builds. Some of them listed out how much money it's taken. It's ridiculous and you should really know what you're getting into before you make that decision. |
i've done my research on 20B's and do understand what they take to maintain and all the work it takes to upgrade the car in order to take it. but i will check out the forums on there as i just got an account. |
If your going 20b expect to fork out 10 grand by the time your any where to near finished. For what you get it is strickly a status thing. honestly for the slight power upgrade with a whole lot less after market support you could go 13bt for a hell of alot less with the same amount of achievable performance 20b is for the epeen rotary guys saying "hey my cock is bigger then yours, but only slightly" go 13bt get a microtech, street port birdge port, monster port what every porting you choose. replace your apex seal with aviation seals, go hybrid turbo (knight sports makes an amazing hybrid) front mount IC. All of that for less money then you would spend on just the 20b alone. not to discourage you but I hope you have deep deep pockets to go with a 20b. |
no thats awsome info never really comapred everything. thanks for that RR. |
hey guys, for all those that have rx7's how much did you pay to get the engine rebuilt??? i've been told between 4 and 6 grand depending on how many new parts etc so i'm curious what all of you paid |
depends on what engine and what generation car. rx7 specialties has their engines listed on their site. |
4 grand is alittle high i would expect porting with that expect to pay atleast 2grand for a full gasket and seal rebuild or just buy the kit and do it yourself rotaries are cake if you have any mechanical knowledge honeslty your best bet is call around |
Forcefed :) I've heard a lot of people with big dreams of 20b's or this and that..slowly they died off. |
^ Geby knows, considering he prolly has one of if not the hottest fd's in Canada your still kicking around in Kelowna Geby? I'm might be down there at the end of this month for school |
Yeah still here in Kelowna, haha my FD's alright as always a constant project. All the shops are alright, here in BC tho every shop gets a bad rep by one person or another. I'm biased as I've only personally been to Forcefed. But as once said in this thread before, call around get to know the shops and the people that work there. BC Rotary is a good place to ask around as well. |
ya I was thinking about picking up the kit and doing it myself as i've worked on cars all my life but wasn't sure how easy it would be. and I thought 4 was kind of steep but thought i'd ask. As far as force fed as I put earlier i was looking at going there but then saw the thread saying they weren't any good cause all i can do is try |
here is the basic's or a rotary block, housing, rotor, block, housing, rotor, block, end the complete block is fairly smalled and tbh you could prolyl pick it up by yourself i moved mine by myself |
