Logitech Harmony One Remote

Anyone else have this remote?
I picked it up a few months ago and i cant believe how easy it was to program and use. I was using 3 remotes for my HT system.
The only con i have about the remote is that you need to buy a dongle for $69 for it to able to sync with the PS3. Other than that it works 100% of the time. The battery life is about 2 weeks and you put back on the charger for an hour and its back to full. Even my wife can use it

Don't have a Harmony One, but I do have the low-end Harmony 520.

IMHO, Harmony remotes are a must have for any home-theatre system.

I'm using the dongle with one of the other harmony remotes, 700 model. Works great, got it programed for my ps3, tv and stereo. Easy set up.

I bought the one BB had on sale for boxing day. I think it's an entry class one. So convenient, glad I purchased it. When prices come down a bit I want to get the one that looks like a flat panel and can control everything in your home.

Logitech constantly updates the database, so it's probably best to check your product on it first.

But, if your device has infra-red/RF, Harmony should be able to control it. Bluetooth = SOL.

I got a Harmony 700 for Christmas. The software is easy to use, but totally unintuitive, Logitech shit the bed with that one.

The plus side is that once you have it set up how you want it, you don't have to touch it again.

I doubt your wife would be able to perform the initial setup, but I know what you're getting at. However, once it's setup, it's pretty much point and click.
My Harmony reduced my 5 remotes into 1.

i just cant justify payin 300 or 400 on a remote. , I guess there is a learning function to learn the random RF and IR signal.

Actually i think she could and shes a total twit when it comes to computers. For a basic setup it was really just point and click you just needed to know what model of electronics you have. It took me about 3 hours to setup but thats because i added a slide show, favorite channels with pictures and the correct name for each device.

If you have 3+ remotes its worth every penny. I couldnt either until i got 1, i dont know i lived without 1 now.

You don't need to spend 300-400 bucks on a Harmony. My bottom of the barrel Harmony 520 cost me $60 3 years ago.

Though I understand your need to have it control your IPOD speaker system, Harmony remotes are best used in home theatre setups. A Harmony is more than just a universal remote; its biggest asset is its ability to store macros which automate your home theatre activities such as watching TV, watching a movie, or playing music.

in my HT, all my gear sits behind me, so I have to point the remote backwards..

Does anyone have any experience with the RF based harmony remotes? I'm been sitting on the fence for a while now cause I think I'd also have to get little RF attachments that go on all my devices to get them to work the harmony?

here's why that is not even close to taking the Harmony out:

- if the owner of the phone leaves, you lose the remote
- it's a touchscreen, so you have to look down to find the stupid buttons, you can't just get a feel for it
