How do you clean your wheel well? Tips, tricks? Searched but nothing specific came up. There aren't chunks up dirt up there but lots of grime and dust. I used wheel cleaner once on the the wheel well and the cleaning stuff turned brown as it was eating away at the crap stuck on the wheel well. |
I found that for doing fenderwells, a bottle brush from OXO works best. Its like a toilet bowl brush, but the bristles are softer and get into the space between the tire and fenderwell easier. Try somewhere like the Bay, Eatons etc. I got mine at Home Sense. You may find a toilet bowl brush at Canadian Tire that will work as well. Best part, these brushes are cheap and last. |
good idea. What about cleaning agents? |

As long as you're preventing any sort of build up, you'll be fine with water/soap and a brush as mentioned above. |
During the summer, I use a pressure washer to blast off the caked on dirt that none of my brushes can touch. The pressure washer alone does an excellent job, if it's a fabric liner then I'll do the same but after soak it in APC, and then give it another pressure rinse to get the APC out. |
Brendan has a point. If they are REALLY muddy like his was, pre rinse with a strong stream from your hose or pwasher and then spray with APC, let soak for a few minutes, scrub and rinse. :) |
Don't forget to spray on some water based dressing so they look extra sexy. |
