fake craigslist is this illegal? somone posts my picture and phone number off facebook on the men seeking men's add on craigslist. I get numerous calls from men all day. Is there a way to track this douchebag? |
Illegal or not hire someone pro/elite that can track his IP adress down, then find out who this person is. You don't wanna kill them because you will get in trouble, but you can break into their house at night and beat the shit out of them also steal their computer... for now just hire someone, not an assassin but someone who can simply track them down for you. |
wouldnt that be considered slander??? |
I say the only real way to make sure you get the right guy is to shit kick anyone that might do this to you just to be safe btw hahahahahaha |
Or, you can find out who it is, and instead of beating him in case you get in deep shit, you beat him at his own game. |
Someone did a similar thing to me. He posted an iPhone for sale @ $150. (bnib 32g, 3gs) if anyone thought for a secondthey would know that it's a fake post. Anyway, the posted at the bottom, "phone only! No emails!!! 604-xxx-xxxx" I get about 18 phone calls within a 8 minute period!! I eventually changed my number, but am dying to find out who's been dong it. Posted via RS Mobile |
is this thread a joke ? lol |
I think this happens more than people think. In fact, someone had a dirt cheap car listed on craigslist here that I called about and the guy said it was someone messing with him. I guess it is a pretty effective way of annoying someone. Unfortunately without the help of craigslist, or if by chance the guy who posted it responds to an e-mail, you're not likely to find out who it is. Best you can do is report the post and get your friends to do the same. Sorry to say I laughed at this too. Back in my day we would go into IRC chat rooms pretending to be girls and posting numbers for people to collect call :p |
you can go to Antartica and round house kick the Emperor Penguins. |
u must be hot |
They'll be charged with mischief at best. Its probably not worth your time. Contact Craigslist as they're the ones with the power in this case. They can find out which email address posted the ad and their IP. They can work on an IP ban. They also have a policy of "prosecuting people misusing their services" but thats likely US only. |
change your number, takes about 5min on the phone, text message all your contacts with your new number, done. Tracking could be very difficult and confrontation may only elevate their mischief, unless you plan on doing something drastic... |
Simplest away of avoiding crap like this. a) NEVER post your phone number anywhere. That includes Facebook! Spam emails are WAY easier to deal with than spam phone calls! b) Don't go around pissing people off, no matter how much or little you know them. Sorry to say, but chances are you and the perpetrator know each other. |
LOL, what do the guys says when they call you? |
wow that is fucked |

Bingo thats exactly it you most likely pissed in someones cornflakes and now they pissed in your count choculas dude. suck it up. And yeah its stupid to post such personal info as a number or addy anywhere on the internet. But if you so feel inclined you can call the police and open a file then do your own investigating maybe find out who did it and charge him/her with harrasment but in the end it wont stick and you will have pissed them off more and they will find more resourceful ways of annoying you |
