|  Shady SubWay - 49th & Oak ???
is it just me or is that subway a bit shady??
reason for that is my 2 friends and I went there to buy some subs to go and when it comes to paying, all our credit cards are either declined or invalid. we were all like wtf is going on.
has anyone had the same experience at that subway??
i came home and told my older bro and he told me some places just do that intentionally so you HAVE to pay cash.  |

if they do that intentionally, they would have alot of wasted subs. because some people dont have cash on hand, therefore use CC/DC... dont think its intentionally... (until unless u see a sign outside saying that machine is broken for like 6month)

if their network was down or machine wasn't working, they'd have told my friends and I "sorry the machine/network is down at the moment, so cash only please" instead of taking all our CCs and having them ALL decline or invalid.

id be more concerned what they might of took when you swiped your card, rather than not being able to use your card all entirely.

i'm afraid they might have stole my/my friends credit card info....i know CC fraud has been around for quite some time.
and yes actually, they were brown.
first, the lady swiped my card and it said declined.
then she told the manager to come and then he swiped it...declined.
then i handed over my other credit card ---> invalid...wtf?!

I think the 49th & Oak one is owned by the same people who own the one on Marine Drive and Granville & 7x. I would make a complaint with the Subway corp. office if you can prove there's card skimming going on.

I saw a cockroach there once crawling on the counter (where you pay).
Disgusting. That being said... I would probably go there again if I need to.
It just means this particular restaurant didn't do as good of a cover up job
as the other restaurants with cockroaches.  | |

True story, bro. One of my mom's friend works as a cashier in a decent chinese restaurant on west side Vancouver (not pointing fingers here). She was offered $5 per credit card number. She did not agree to join.
Lesson here: Even if the shop does not look shady, shop with caution and be wary of double swiping. Check credit card statements frequently and report if you think your card is compromised.

i eat at OP's location once in a while...always paid with cash so no problems..
now that ithink about it, everytime i drop by it is pretty empty...good to know about the cockroaches.
oh and fail on the stereotypes....most sandwhich artists at most locations are brown

Oak and 49th Pho Hoa is the filthiest fucking place I've ever been outside of the downtown core. Its absolutely disgusting. I'd say the service was shit too but the service is always shit at Pho Hoas
