Home Catering Recommendations?

I'm looking for a company that caters (and, ideally, delivers) affordable meals. Does anyone know of any companies that offers this service? Let's just say that my own cooking is less than stellar.

So far we've only been able to find: http://scrumptiouscaterer.wordpress.com

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

What type of food are you looking for? Chinese cuisine, Italian, etc.?
Is it for a party?

Basically looking to have dinner catered for a busy family of four on weekdays. We don't really have a preference as to type of food, although it'd be preferably on the healthier side. Delivery isn't even necessary, just as long as the food is ready!

I know this service exists, I randomy found a couple websites based in Vancouver that offer this service a while back but I didn't bookmark it at the time!

my gf works at culinary capers. Not sure if they do this type of service but you can look them up

The partial owner is a past co-worker's wife. It looks like a good place to get the healthy meals.

The scrumptious caterer looks pretty good.

I like how they change their menus daily and how they have a mix of (chinese, japenese, korean and american food)

Prices seem pretty good as well.

As to the OP, any suggestions would be appreciated.

It's nice to find a good affordable caterer for the people that are really busy and can't cook at home.

indish.ca have two locations.. the food is okay. They deliver or you can go and pick up.

There is also a ton of chinese mom and pop operations.. so hang out at chinese boards etc.

Thanks guys, this is the kinda stuff I've been looking for!

Though I'd resurrect this thread.

Scrumptious has taken a hiatus.

Any other recommendations or the so called "Chinese Mom and Pop" operations - its hard to get any contact information as I'm a CBC and don't know about the forums.

Please PM if anyone have details.

Thanks!

sh0n,

Cooking skill can be acquired, you might just need some basics? I'm sure we could make some suggestions for simple home cooked meals for you.

But for now, if you wanted to feed your family well, then I think you are doing the right thing by not just feeding them pizza, fast food and whatever else is handy.

If delivery isn't necessary, then where are you located that still makes it convenient for you to pick it up from?

Dont get me wrong I can cook my worth. I went abroad for school 4 years - it was either cook for myself of KD everyday.

I just require the take-out option from a home cooked establishment as my job does not permit the time to cook.
