accord sitting on civic's jack is it possible to use 97 civic hatchback jack for 03 accord v6? there is 1000lbs in term of the weight difference.. |

If you're talking about the scissors jack, most of them can handle about 1.5 tons, which is about 3000 lbs. You'd be cutting it a little close by using the scissors jack. In any case, I hope you have jack stands and a better jack (if it's the scissors jack you have). What type of work are you planning to do? |

yeah it is the scissors jack. just want to keep it on my trunk in case of something. I lost mine, any idea to get it at a deal? |

If it's only going to be used in an emergency like changing a flat on the side of the road, it should be fine. However, don't use it if you plan on doing anything other than that. |

^ Take that advice. Get yourself a 2 ton jack and some jack stands. |

Ah, I see. so it should be fine for temporary work? Quote:

temp = no problem However I suggest you go to a junk yard to pick one up. They should be plenty cheap. But for a while I was carrying my hand jack in my trunk cause I kept getting flat's on #1 thanks to constructions .. :( |

I used to keep a small floor jack and a pair of jack stands in my trunk because my car would break down so often... :lol |

any idea on which junk yard should I haunt? looking for a good deal. Quote:

^ Drive down to mitchell island and hunt there. Bunch of junk yards there with many options to choose from. They all close around 5, and aren't normally open on weekends. |
