I asked our finance editor, who, after looking at me strangely, said that it would be up to the bank to decide on whether to accept the money. But he did say that retailers would be within their rights not to accept extremely damaged bills.

It just seems that in a time when we're only now coming out of a recession and companies are deliberating throwing away clothes the one million euro could have been spent in a much better way.

I'm pretty sure that this is a big joke or a publicity stunt.

this is the reason why you hear people winning millions only to go broke. They have never had that kind of money so they spend, spend, spend on useless items and than its all gone and there back to square one.

The largest Euro note is 500... so for her to stitch a million onto the dress means 2000 bills... I have a hard time believing there's 2000 bills there.
