VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - An East Vancouver high school student who created a 'hit list' of students and staff at Templeton Secondary School has been given a two year conditional sentence that will focus on supervision, with no jail time.
The judge felt the few days the student originally spent in custody after his arrest was sufficient. Neil MacKenzie with the Criminal Justice Branch explains there are some conditions the teen has to follow as well. "He's to have no contact with a number of named individuals as well as any teacher at Templeton High school."
He's also banned from possessing weapons. The hit list was discovered on a Facebook page by a number of Templeton students last June. The teens reported it to staff and police, and the student behind the hit list was arrested soon after.
